FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Where is the farm? 69 Taylor Ferry Rd., Elma, WA 98541
- Do you ship? We are now offering shipping within Washington State! The minimum order is $99 and shipping is a flat rate fee of $29. We ship on Wednesdays and orders generally arrive on Thursdays. Orders are shipped in cardboard boxes with recyclable paper liners and frozen ice packs.
- Do you have a store? We have an on-farm store in Elma, WA that is open Wednesday and Friday from 11am-5pm. We are also offering freezer pickup. Now you can pick up your order even if the store isn't open! Available 7 days a week between 8am and 8pm. Order fulfillment is 1-3 days depending on the day of the week.
- Which farmers markets do you attend? We attend the Olympia Farmers Market (Saturdays, January thru March and Saturdays and Sundays, April thru December) and Proctor Farmers Market (Every other Saturday Jan - Mar, every Saturday Mar 29 - Dec 20 ). Order online by 5 pm the Friday before market for quick and easy pickup the next day.
- Do you deliver? We are not offering delivery at this time. You can find our full line of pork products and old fashioned farm soaps through South Sound Fresh, offering weekly local delivery to parts of Mason and Thurston Counties.
- What products do you offer? We offer our quality heritage breed pork and pasture-raised chicken from Kirsop Farm.
- What breed of pigs do you raise? We raise a variety of pigs including Berkshire, Hereford, Duroc and Red Wattle as well as crosses of these and others.
- Do you breed your own pigs? We currently have a breeding herd of about 45 with the majority of our piglets and future breeding stock being produced on-farm.
- What does farrow-to-finish mean? Farrow-to-finish means that we are maintain a breeding herd and grow pigs to butcher weight for processing into pork.
- Are your animals fed grain? Our pigs are fed grain. The chicken we sell is raised on grass and they are fed grain.
- Are your animals grain finished? Our pigs are provided grain for the length of their lives. The feed is soy and corn free. The chicken we sell is raised on grass and they are fed grain that is corn free.
- Are your products organically certified? We are not a certified organic farm. We carry pasture-raised chicken that is certified Organic.
- Where can we find your products? Shop our online store 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and choose from several convenient pick up locations. Visit our on-farm store in Elma, WA. You can find us regularly at local farmers markets throughout the year (see above). Order online for quick and easy pickup at farmers markets. We also offer our full line of pork products through South Sound Fresh, with weekly local delivery to parts of Mason and Thurston Counties. Now offering shipping within Washington State.
- Are you offering bulk discounts or whole or half shares? We do not currently offer traditional WSDA custom exempt processed pork shares. Throughout the year we do offer a variety of bulk boxes as well as whole and half pig shares processed under USDA inspection. If you are already enjoying the selection of pork cuts we offer, this is a great opportunity to stock up and save! We are not offering bulk discounts on any meats except pork at this time.
- Do you offer whole pigs for roasting? We currently do not offer whole pigs for roasting.
- Do you sell live animals? We currently do not have any live animals for sale.
- Can we visit the farm? We believe in the importance of consumers developing personal relationships with those that produce their food. Email info@chehalisvalleyfarm.com to arrange a farm visit. Visits are by appointment only.
- Do you have eggs for sale? We currently do not have any eggs in stock.
- Do you have chicken? We offer pasture-raised whole chickens and a variety chicken cuts in our on-farm store produced by other farms.
- Do you have beef? We currently do not have any beef in stock.
- Do you have lamb? We currently do not have any lamb in stock.
- Do you offer wholesale pricing? Email info@chehalisvalleyfarm.com for pricing, terms and availability of wholesale items.
- Can I pre-order products? You can reserve products in inventory for farmers market or on-farm pickup on our website.
- Where are the animals processed? Our pork is USDA processed at Revel Meats in Canby, Oregon. Revel Meats is a small, locally owned butcher Animal Welfare Approved and believes in humane handling of livestock. The beef and lamb are USDA processed, processing facility may differ depending on the farm. The pasture-raised chicken we sell is processed in on-farm WSDA-inspected facilities.
- Are your products always frozen? All of the meat we offer is frozen.
