FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What products do you offer? We offer pasture-raised poultry and forest-raised pork products.
  • Where can we find your products? We offer local delivery and sell weekly at several regional farmers markets (see below for more info). Our whole chickens can often be found at Marlene's Market and Deli in Tacoma and Federal Way as well as the Eastside location of the Olympia Food Co-op. Beast & Cleaver, a family owned butcher shop in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle also ofter carries our pasture-raised chicken. 
  • Which farmers markets do you attend? You can find us at the Bellevue Farmers Market on Thursdays from 3pm-7pm, the Proctor Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9am-2pm and the Olympia Farmers Market on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm.   • Where is the farm? We have a 50-acre farm outside of Elma, WA in the beautiful Chehalis River Valley.
  • Can we visit the farm? We believe in the importance of consumers developing personal relationships with those that produce their food. Email info@chehalisvalleyfarm.com to arrange a farm visit. Visits are by appointment only.
  • What poultry do you raise? The main meat chickens that we raise are Cornish-cross. We are currently raising ducks and will have holiday turkeys available in 2020.
  • What breed of pigs do you raise? The majority of the pigs that we raise are a cross between a Hereford boar and Gloucestershire Old Spots sows.
  • Do you have eggs for sale? We do not offer eggs for sale at this time.
  • Do you have beef? We do not raise or offer beef at this time.
  • Are your animals grain fed? We supplement our animals' naturally foraged food with Washington grown, non-GMO grains that are corn and soy free. All grains are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.
  • Are your animals grain finished? Our animals are provided grain for the length of their lives. We supplement our animals naturally foraged food with Washington grown, non-GMO grains that are corn and soy free.
  • Are your products organically certified? We are not a certified organic farm. We incorporate our animals into the farm in a regenerative way that supports healthy land stewardship. We source our supplemental grains directly from Washington farmers that are committed to growing non-GMO grain without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. We never use antibiotics or growth hormones.
  • Do you ship? We do not offer shipping at this time.
  • Do you deliver? We deliver to several areas in the South Sound region. Visit here to see if you are in our delivery zone.
  • Is there a fee for delivery? There is an $8 delivery fee.
  • Is there a minimum fee for delivery? There is an $50 minimum order for delivery. 
  • Do you offer wholesale pricing? Email info@chehalisvalleyfarm.com for pricing, terms and availability of wholesale items.
  • Can I pre-order products? We do not offer reservations for any of our products at this time (outside of possibly holiday birds). When we add products to our inventory, we give priority ordering to our newsletter recipients. Please sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates. You can reserve products in inventory for farmers market or on-farm pickup on our website.
  • Where are the animals processed? We have a WSDA inspected poultry processing facility on our farm that allows us to process the birds on-site, minimizing the stress and discomfort of the animals and maximizing the quality and freshness of the products. Our pork is USDA processed at Revel Meats in Canby, Oregon. Revel Meats is a small, locally owned butcher Animal Welfare Approved and believes in humane handling of livestock.
  • Are you offering whole or half pig shares? We are not offering whole or half pig shares at this time and do not currently have plans to offer them in 2020.   • Are your products always frozen? Our products are frozen immediately after processing to ensure freshness.
